Chairman of Board of Management message.

Wendy

We frequently say a year has been successful, productive, exciting but this year has been different. We have experienced a year of fast moving change and making sure we maintain a viable business has been of paramount importance. Our risk management work has been robust and must be even more challenging as we move into the uncharted waters of an unknown financial and economic future, along with changes in the sectors regulation.

The Board has been strong and we are very fortunate to have members who have the essential and desirable skills. The members have challenged and questioned to ensure that our strategic objectives and our Business Plan are fit for purpose, to meet the Association’s mission.

As a Board we direct and support the staff in their work. They have the difficult task of working with our tenants who are experiencing financial difficulties, whilst realising how important the rental income is to the viability of the business.

A great deal of change has been instigated to the Association’s management structure in our on-going plans to continuously improve services to customers. The direct employment of Multi Skilled Craft Operatives and a very experienced Gardener / Handyman will radically change the way repairs, communal gardening and site management are undertaken. We are confident that this will improve efficiency, value for money and tenant satisfaction.

Following the training of staff, the budget allocated to improve the energy efficiency in our existing properties is well underway. This work will significantly assist tenants with affording daily energy expenditure and help avoid fuel poverty.

The coming year is planned to be one of consolidation. Our Business Plan is designed to improve our properties, progress the new services instigated, whilst at the same time being prepared should new opportunities arise.
